17th Century Box-Bench from the Auvergne
A charming late 17th century box-bench (coffret-banc) in solid chestnut from the Auvergne region. The single armrest indicates that this would have been used as a fireside seat, with internal storage for either fire tools or cooking salt. French, c. 1680.
