Japanese Hand Painted Paper Screen
A beautifully distressed six-panel hand painted screen dating from the late Edo Period. Created using watercolour, ink and gold leaf on paper, it depicts a typical scene with figures & architectural elements in the landscape. Once bold and bright, the original colours and gilding have faded with time to leave a subdued and characterful piece of art. Six panels are separated and ready to hang individually. Japanese, c. 1800.
